Leon pursued his law degree at Christ's College, Cambridge University and is qualified in both Singapore and the UK. He has since worked for top international law firms in London, Singapore and Hong Kong. He last practised as a corporate finance lawyer with Herbert Smith in London. Leon was also the founding President of Cambridge University Asian Lawyers Association.

Leon is currently the Global Head for Cambridge Alliance Consulting and will be spearheading its growth in Singapore and Canada.

Andrew Khoo

Andrew Khoo is based in Victoria, Canada and runs his own property development business and also manages a couple of real estate funds. He has extensive experience in the hospitality industry and was formerly the General Manager of County Hotels as well as the Corporate Affairs Director at Corus and Regal Hotels and Laura Ashley plc in the UK. Andrew graduated from Robinson College, University of Cambridge with a law degree. He was former president of the Cambridge University Asian Lawyer Association. He also sits on the Board of the following listed companies in Australia: Network Foods Limited and Morning Star Holdings.

Krishna Ramachandra

After completing his Master of Laws at Christ's College, Cambridge, Krishna worked as a corporate finance lawyer at leading international law firm, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer for several years in London. During his time with Freshfields, he was involved in cross-border mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions. He was also involved in telecommunications, media and technology-slanted transactions. Since returning to Singapore, Krishna has acted as legal consultant for several technology companies. He is currently practising as a corporate finance lawyer with Clifford Chance in Singapore.

Joshua Lim

Having graduated from Cambridge, following a four-year course, with a Master of Engineering on a full scholarship from the Commonwealth Trust, Joshua has worked both in academia and industry. This includes his sabbatical on policy recommendation on the electronics industry in Europe, working together with Institute of Manufacturing, University of Cambridge and DG Research of the European Commission. He has also worked with Cambridge University’s overseas undergraduate admissions team (Malaysia and Singapore). His experience in industry includes firms such as Invensys, Grant Instrument and Granta Design, dealing with business strategy and manufacturing systems issues. His other working experience includes Change Management with Accenture. He is also a consultant to a number of companies in both Singapore and Malaysia.

Menghan Kuok

Meng-Han Kuok read for his B.A.(Hons) and M.Eng. in Manufacturing Engineering at Magdalene College, Cambridge. He previously worked in the European technology corporate finance team at UBS as well industrial engineering projects in China and Netherlands. He was also business development manager of TFI Ltd, working on regional and national economic development projects based on nanotechnology. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD at the Institute of Biotechnology in Cambridge University.

Karen Tong

Karen Tong graduated in Law from Downing College, Cambridge University and topped the Department with first class honours both in her second and final year Tripos and was awarded the University's Slaughter & May Prize for best overall performance, and the College's Senior Jarvis Scholarship. Karen studied Natural Sciences in her first year in Cambridge and obtained a first honours before pursuing her interests in Law.

After her graduation, she took the professional certificates in law exam in Hong Kong and was awarded the Baker & McKenzie Postgraduate Prize, the YM Wong Memorial Prize, the Brian McElney Medel in Law and the Bloomsbury Books Prize in Law. She worked for international law firm Clifford Chance in Hong Kong from 2001 to 2004, during which she was seconded to Goldman Sachs as well. She specialized in corporate securities and regulatory work upon qualification as a qualified solicitor in both Hong Kong and the U.K. Karen is currently pursuing her LL.M. in the University of Pennsylvania's law.

Alan Bates

Alan read Law at Christ's College, Cambridge, where he obtained a first class honours degree and was awarded the University's Clive Parry Prize for Public International Law. He founded and chaired the Cambridge Lawyers for Human Rights Society, and was both elected as a scholar of his College and awarded the De Hart Prize for Public Law three times.

After graduating he spent a year as a research assistant at the Law Commission, before being awarded a Thouron scholarship to study at the University of Pennsylvania, where be obtained an LL.M. degree. His main subjects of study included U.S. civil procedure, comparative constitutional law, and bioethics. He also wrote papers on the decisions of the World Trade Organisation's Appellate Body on trade disputes related to animal welfare and environmental concerns, and on the role played by lawyers and judges in Nazi Germany.

He was awarded a Queen Mother scholarship by Middle Temple for his year at Bar School. Thereafter he completed a 12 month pupillage at Monckton Chambers in September 2004, during which he gained experience of all areas of Chambers' practice under the guidance of his pupil supervisors Jon Turner, Peter Mantle and Kassie Smith.

At present he is the judicial assistant to the Senior Law Lord, Lord Bingham of Cornhill. The role requires Alan to draft memoranda to appeal committees on petitions for leave to appeal, to provide research and speech-writing support to Lord Bingham, and to attend House of Lords and Privy Council hearings at which Lord Bingham is presiding. Alan will be returning to Chambers in September 2005.

He is an active member of the Free Representation Unit and also accepts instructions through the Bar Pro Bono Unit.

Trevor Ng

Trevor holds a Master in Engineering (Aeronautics) from Hughes Hall, Cambridge University and has worked for a number of engineering companies both in Singapore and Hong Kong. At present, he is pursuing his PhD in Aeronautics & Astronautics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and advises Cambridge Alliance on any technology-related matters.

Jai Diwanji

India

Jai completed his undergraduate degree from Tulane University in the United States and thereafter completed his law degree from Downing College, University of Cambridge. Jai worked for several years at a leading international law firm in London, Herbert Smith, where he focussed primarily on corporate and financial transactions. He is currently a partner in one of the oldest Indian law firms, Desai & Diwanji.

Yen Lee Heng

Yen Lee read Chemical Engineering at Christ's College, Cambridge University and also Management Studies at the Judge Institute of Management. She joined Accenture with their Strategy Consulting group based in Singapore and has advised multinational companies within the financial services, telecommunication and government sectors on a broad range of issues. Her work includes advising on customer relationship management, business strategy, change management and system implementation issues. Prior to joining Accenture, she had worked in London with both KPMG Consulting and Goldman Sachs.

Inderbir Kaur Sandhu, Ph.D

Inderbir holds a Ph.D in Educational Psychology (Gifted Education) from University of Cambridge, UK. She has been working with teenagers of high abilities since 1997. Upon completion of her doctorate, she lectured at Universiti Putra Malaysia and was also the Vice-President of the National Association for Gifted Children, Malaysia (NAGCM). She then worked as a consultant with NUS (National University of Singapore) Overseas College Silicon Valley in California, USA and Singapore for a year. Since late 2003 and currently, she is working as an Educational Psychologist with Raffles Girls' School (Secondary), Singapore.

Inderbir has researched, presented and published various papers on giftedness.  She also offers expert advice on giftedness on a website (www.brainy-child.com) and has been invited to give various talks on giftedness and creativity.

Her areas of expertise: psychology and identification of the gifted, educational testing (namely IQ and creativity) and educational programmes for the highly able.

Queenie Lai

Queenie Lai graduated in Law from Magdalene College, Cambridge University with a scholarship from the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and Magdalene College Bursary. After graduation, she worked for an international law firm Clifford Chance in Hong Kong and Shanghai and was later admitted as a qualified solicitor to the High Court of Hong Kong. She specialised in corporate and securities law and was involved in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, private equity transactions and foreign direct investment in China. Queenie is currently pursuing her LLM with a focus on corporate and U.S. securities law at the Georgetown University, Washington DC on the Rotary International Scholarship.

Jacob Turner

Jacob holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in General Psychology, a Masters of Business Administration, as well as a Juris Doctorate from the University of California – Berkeley’s Boalt Hall School of Law (Berkeley, California, USA).  Before entering the field of US Securities Law, Jacob’s background was focused on education and youth psychology.  Jacob spent two years as a faculty member at Seven Hills Middle School (ages 11-14) in Nevada City, California, USA and three years as a teaching assistant, lab instructor and lecturer at Utah State University.  He then worked as a program supervisor and Residential Counselor at the River Oak Center for Children in Sacramento, California, USA, where he was responsible for the implementation of a full-time treatment program for Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) children (ages 7-15).  He also served as an Examination Evaluator for the California Testing Board-McGraw/Hill (the leading provider of educational assessment and reporting solutions in the USA) at their Sacramento headquarters.

Jacob has been an active member of the Psi Chi Honor Society (psychology), the American Psychological Association, Inc., the Association of College Unions International (ACUI), the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and the organization of United Utah Schools.  As well as researching and publishing, he has recently been invited to lecture at various conferences and workshops including at the Boeing Company’s Long Beach Training Center (California, USA), the Graziadio School’s Executive-MBA center in Santa Clara (California, USA), the European Applied Business Research Conference in Venice, Italy,  the International Applied Business Research Conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the University of Saint Anthony (USANT) in Iriga, Philippines.

Clint Keller

Clint Keller is a graduate of Harvard Law School and admitted to the bar in the State of New York. He has practiced with leading international law firms in both London and Tokyo. His current practice focuses on the U.S. securities law aspects of European merger and acquisition transactions and securities offerings. Clint has lectured at Waseda University on the laws governing foreign investments in Japan. He recently completed a three-month sabbatical at Kyushu University, where he studied as a Monbukagakusho scholar.
