Introduction
Of all the professional disciplines, a legal education has the distinction of imparting to the student, sophisticated skills of analysis and refined communication techniques. A legal education is no longer the exclusive preserve of those individuals aspiring to the practice of law. In today’s complex world, being equipped with a law degree seamlessly integrates with a variety of disciplines and is viewed by many as the professional degree of choice.
It is with this spirit in mind that
Cambridge Alliance Centre is proud to announce a ONE-DAY Pre-Law Seminar (PLS).
The PLS is designed for highly motivated students of all ages, or even for
working adults who are contemplating a second degree in law.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage and converse with practicing lawyers (both local and international), and to find out what law school admissions committee look for when reviewing law school applications. The PLS will expose you to ideas that will captivate and inspire you, by teaching you how to market yourself and how to build a roadmap to success on the law school admission’s process. It will also provide timely information that will help prospective law school applicants sidestep potholes on the road to law school. The PLS also provides a sneak preview of the following core law subjects – criminal law, tort law and contract law. We believe that this will help prospective law school applicants to clarify their thoughts on whether the legal profession is indeed the right choice.
The PLS further includes a special segment
on “Getting into Cambridge Law: Dispelling the Myths”. Finally, the PLS also
explores what is it really like working in an international law firm and how it
can be possible for a fresh law graduate to earn up to S$120,000 per annum.
All these features are maintained in the PLS. Given its international
orientation, as well as its commitment to the understanding of the legal system,
we are hopeful that the PLS will help strengthen critical thinking/problem
solving skills, increase self-awareness and develop the knowledge capital of the
participants.
