The rules and regulations of the Programme are designed for the safety and security of the students. Students are not to take them lightly as these rules and regulations will be strictly enforced. The following will outline some of the major offences and the subsequent actions that will be taken by the Director of the Cambridge Winter School Programme.
Actions leading to immediate dismissal
Drinking alcohol - students are not allowed to consume alcohol drinks under any circumstances during the course of the Programme. Parents will be notified immediately to make the necessary flight arrangements. The student will then be grounded until departure to the airport via taxi or coach
Students are not to engage in any inappropriate activities/relationship with students from the opposite sex
Students are not to get involved in the use of drugs. Should this occur, the local police will be notified
Actions leading to Grounding
The following are some of the major disciplinary actions leading to grounding (severity depending on nature of offences)
Smoking - students are not to smoke or have in their possession any form of tobacco
Unexcused absence from lectures - students who are unable to attend lectures due to sickness or any other approved reasons are to notify the Supervisor
Engage in unsupervised activities outside college compounds after 8.30pm
Unsupervised deviation from excursion sites during trips out of Cambridge
Students are reminded not to engage in unsociable behaviour or interfere with the safety of other students. Refer to the Supervisors if the students are unsure of what behaviour is unacceptable. Moreover, students are to keep in good order the condition of their college room. Chairs, tables, bed, pillows etc. are not to be removed from the students’ room. For the safety of the college, no candles or incense are allowed.
