How many modules do students need to sign-up for?

Students must sign up for at least TWO modules for the Cambridge WSP.

What are the requirements for attending the Cambridge Winter School Programme?

The Admissions Board seeks to admit junior college students and outstanding secondary four students who are both mature and academically motivated as they will be the ones to stand to benefit most from the Programme.

Competition for a place is very high and we do not normally admit more than 15-20 students per year.

Who teaches the modules for the Cambridge Winter School Programme?

All the lecturers of the Cambridge Winter School Programme are either teaching members of the University of Cambridge or post-graduate researchers of the university.

How much is the tuition fee?

The comprehensive fees for the Cambridge Winter School Programme is GBP 2100

Are there any financial assistance available for the Cambridge Winter School Programme?

Every year Cambridge Alliance Centre receives corporate sponsorships through the CAC Fellowship Fund to enable outstanding students to take part in our programmes. The Admissions Board is required to award these bursaries (in part or in full) based on the candidates' intellectual ability, leadership quality and the commitment and desire to use their knowledge to contribute to society in whichever way possible. How does airport pick-up and drop-off work?

Programme staff will be waiting for students at the airport Arrival Hall on the first day of the Programme. They will be holding signs saying CAMBRIDGE WINTER SCHOOL PROGRAMME and will be escorting the students to Cambridge via chartered bus or taxi. Similarly for airport drop-off, the Programme staff will be escorting the students back to the airport.

What will their daily routine be like?

What and where do students eat?

Breakfast will be served in the Dining Hall of Sidney Sussex College while buffet-styled dinner will be at the University Centre. Vegetarian option is available on every meal.

What kind of supervision will be available?

There will be a programme staff for every 6-8 students. The programme staff, normally referred to as Group Leaders, are with the students at all times during excursions out of Cambridge. They are available to the students at all times. After curfew hours, students are to be escorted by the Deputy Directors at all times when outside the college compound. All Group Leaders are members of University of Cambridge, either at the undergraduate or post-graduate level.

Do I need travel insurance?

It is compulsory for all students attending the Cambridge WSP to have purchased travel insurance.

What if a student gets sick or injured during the Programme?

There are many health clinics in Cambridge which ordinarily cater to the large student populations throughout the year, including the Addenbrooke's Hospital which is located 5 minutes from Cambridge City Centre. Students will have access to all these facilities during their stay in Cambridge. However, if you have a medical condition that requires constant monitoring, it is advisable to make arrangements with a private medical facility (please inform the Director for more information)

What are the accommodation in Cambridge like?

Students will all stay in college rooms. They are all single-room with shared facilities. These rooms are normally occupied by Cambridge students during term time but are vacated for the duration of the winter holidays.

Are there laundry facilities?

Yes, all the colleges in Cambridge have coin-operated washing and drying machines.
